A Novel Prolinamide Organo-Catalyst for the Asymmetric Aldol Reaction: Synthesis of ß- Hydroxyketones

Abstract:

A new L-prolinamide catalyst has been synthesized for the enantioselectivealdol reaction of various aldehydes with acetone. This method provides high yields of β-hydroxyketones (up to 90%) with good enantioselectivity (up to 90%) using a low catalyst loading (5 mol%)
